A few summers ago, I had to fight mimosa tree shoots that infested my back lawn. The roots of the mimosa tree are insidious. The roots of sin that tangle our hearts are even more so.
- My spirituality doesn’t shield me from my sin’s consequences (vs. 1-8)
- I am unable to move toward God; he must move toward me (vs. 9-12)
- My hurtful words and shattered relationships expose my sinful condition (vs. 13-18)
- My Bible knowledge only further condemns me (vs. 19-20)
